OUR SERVICES
Building projects can seem incredibly daunting and complex, but hiring an architect can help to alleviate some of the stress and hopefully make it more enjoyable! To simplify the process, we've split it into three manageable steps.
-
Our initial feasibility study stage is to help provide you with the confidence to move forward with an idea of what is achievable and get you excited about the possibilities / potential.
We will help you develop a brief that is tailored to your vision, while identifying any key opportunities, restrictions or constraints which may impact your project. We’ll produce a concept design document containing a few different design options, taking your ideas into account and throwing in several of our own! We’ll use illustrations, sketch plans and precedent imagery to help you visualise the ideas better.
We’ll then look through the options together, and you’ll get the opportunity to pick what you do / don’t like.
Following this, we typically produce a ‘preferred design’ which is normally a best-of-both combination of the options.
-
While Phase A is more about layout and form, in Phase B we’ll turn your preferred option into a more detailed design, looking into appearance, materials, lighting etc.
Once the design is refined and you are happy, we’ll prepare and submit the planning application, managing the process and acting as your agent with the local authority.
While we can’t guarantee planning approval, we will produce measured drawings and a report full of compelling imagery and diagrams providing justification for the design to give you the best chance of success.
-
With the planning permission in place we will develop detailed technical drawings and specifications so your contractor knows exactly what to do. We’ll also prepare and submit the information for building regulations approval.
We can guide you through selecting the right contractor, comparing quotes, and setting up the building contract. We can also act as the Contract Administrator for the duration of the building contract to help to manage the project, review interim valuations, track project progress and deal with any unforeseen changes / issues.
We’ll also be on hand to support you and ensure the final result stays true to the design and meets the quality you expect.
We appreciate that no two projects are the same. Whether you need a comprehensive architectural service from start to finish, or some light-touch design assistance to work out what is possible, we can tailor our offer to suit your budget, timeline and aspirations.
